A day of speeches

The Military Ball is this Saturday, the thiertieth of April, and I have to make so many speeches. I have to do a welcoming, open and closing remarks, i have to greet all the parents and my fear of public speaking is going to have to go away for that one night. : Cucuy. I hope it doesnt get the best of me and that all goes well for me. I have to get ready for all those speeches and im scared of standing up in front of plp and talking. Its different with being Fem. Color Grd. Comm. to being and doing this as Battalion Comm. Being Comm. for the FCG, i have other plp standing there with me, and most of the plp where i go and present the colors to, they dont know who i am, so that is the coolest. But now this, i have my parents in front of me along with the whole Bear Battalion and if i F*** up just a little bit, the plp who I assume dont like me cuz i took over some other b*t*h*s position cuz she f***** up so bad, are gonna make fun of me for a while and they are not going to let it go. Ahh...the pressure. :o ( < me screaming)

La oldie

My dad sent his truck, La Oldie, to the shop so it could get painted and once again, he is trying to restore it. Its a 1959 Ford truck. So its pretty cool, its been in my family for a while, it belonged to my tio first, then my tio needed money and he sold it to my dad so it could stay in the family.

Then my dad "restored" it according to him, used it for about 4 yrs then parked the truck for about 2 yrs and now decided to restore it again cuz it had already gotten ugly from just being parked outside of my humble abode. My mom is pretty not in a good mood right know because she wants a truck and my dad refused to buy her one, and he decided to restore that truck again. I wonder how its going to turn out this time. Hmmm..ill see if i can find a before my dad fixed it picture, to how he fixed it the last time, to know that hes trying to fix it again. Ah que señor este, le gusta hacer enojar a mi mama.

La Picosa

Earlier today my sister and I were passing by dads friends house and we saw this red truck that used to belong to us when we were younger, La Picosa, como le llamabamos. Its funny how we used to love this truck and we were always with my dad. We had so many memories in this truck with all my siblings.

I remeber last year that señor brought the truck to my dad so he could fix it..(cuz my dad is a mechanic)..and my big brother was all excited and he told us that the truck was outside and my hermanillo y yo nos salimos a mirarla. This truck had seen better days, it was really rusty, y estaba bien picada and the handles from the inside were missing and they had a desarmador and some wrench so they could open and close the doors and the windows, pero teniamos la picosa en frente de nosotros. When we used to have it, my dad never let us take food in it and was always taking care of this truck the best way possible, and to us the truck was beautiful cuz it made loud noises because of the mofles and it was reddish marron.

It was nice seeing this truck after so many years, it wasnt in the prettiest condition, but it was just the memories it brought back to us when we saw it that made us smile. I remember we cried when my dad sold this truck, hehe...that was nice.

Junk

I never knew so much junk could come out of a super tiny room as it did today in my room. I finally got my bedroom set, and i was getting so annoyed cuz i had so many things that i didnt know i had and then some that i thought were already lost....like for example a "Best Friends" necklace i used to wear with a person whom I thouhg was my "best friend" who i later found out couldnt be trusted, thats why i dont believe in "bfs," i have close friends, very good friends and then acquaintences, but no best friends....newayz, im finally done with the room, and it looks much bigger than it did yesterday and the 8 yrs of my life that i slept in that roomwith my other two sisters....but now its mine. :D

Pack Rat

I sort of finished throwing away so many years of memories or basura as my mom called it. I had to clean my room entirely cuz my mom bought me a new bedroom set, so that meant i had to clean under the mattress my cuata and i slept on, where over the years both of us just stuffed papers that we thought were important. So my cuata and i started sorting out papers and looking at what belonged to each other. Then we began throwing stuff to the trash.

Theres one thing that i hate about myself, that i get emotionally attached to things (and people) very easily, so throwing out stuff was really hard for me. At the end i was amazed at how much stuff i let go and i ended up with a very small pile that fits into a 3 inch binder. Im so proud of myself, that i thouhgt "Diana,why didnt you just do it before?" hehe.

I guess im learning to move on and not stick to my old stuff anymore...that and the fact that im already gonna graduate so more than half of things i own are getting thrown out. I wonder if the next thing im gonna get rid of is my car.....nah i dont think so. My car is too precious for me, my dad gave it to me for my 16th b-day with all his esfuerzo and time he spent saving up for the car, and i always value what plp give me especially my parents, so i think maybe that car is gonna stay with me for a very long while, even if it gets all rusty and it barely even works. :P

Having a great time.

I decided to go to San Antonio with my tia, mis primas y mi abuelita. I had alot of fun, cuz for the first time i went to Sea World, it was really nice and then of course my tia took us to Fiesta Texas, which i saw no point too cuz i have already been there so many times before and my cousins were too scared to get on any rides with me, so that sucked cuz i had to get on the rides myself. The only thing i didnt like was the fact that i had to sleep with my primilla and she kicked and wanted to throw me off the bed at night. Newayz, I got to feed a sea lion, which i thouhgt was so cute and i saw dolphins and whales up close. Paresco niña chiquita hablando de todo esto, pero ni modo, i had a great time.

Oh yeah and one more thing, my tia had said that the next time we went, she was going to take my cuata with me cuz both of us like to get on the rides, on the "scary ones and the ones that are peligrosos according to my grandma." (hehe thats funny), but now she cant. :D Why? cuz she is pregnant once again. My partner in crime when we were small is pregnant once again. :D So theres two babies coming once again into this family, my little brothers and hers. My family is growing little by little and my parents ya se estan chiflando about this whole grandparent thing, they are getting the hang of it already, well not really, b-cuz todavia hacen muchos corajes with my sobrinos that i already have, but they are learning to be more loving. :D I feel so awkard that im the only one "single" and without a child or pregnant. hehe. But everything takes time, and i dont have marriage or a child planned anywhere in the near future, man im only 18, i need to live my life and make something out of ,myself. :D

Prom

Today was my high school Prom. It was really nice and pretty. I spent my night with my closest friends and danced a couple of songs, I have one more night of great memories. I wanted to cry when they called all of us, the Seniors, to the middle of the dance floor and they played our class song. Its barely hitting me that Im not going to see most of these plp after we graduate, or maybe I will at Pan-Am theres a few who got accepted to Baylor, Harvard, MIT, UT at Austin, or Texas A&M at Kingsvillle or Corpus Christi, but all the rest of us who have Mexican parents are staying home cuz they dont want for their child to go off to college. Newayz back to what i was saying, It was nice, the only thing that sucked was the fact that my parents wanted me home early, thats why im here writing in my blog. My bf didnt go with me to prom, but i did take a very good friend of mine, Pete, to prom with me as my date, and i guess that was it. Go class of 2005! Graduation is just about 5 weeks away, tear, tear.

Newayz, Im not sleepy, and i have to get up at 5 cuz im going to San Antonio with my tia and buelita for the weekend. for what? I dont know. They asked me que si queria ir and i said yes, so i need to pack super quick when i get up again. Newayz, i guess thats it. Prom night for me is over, and it was nice. :D

The past couple of weeks....

I finally got to write in my blog again. whoohooo!!! Im so happy. My computer had a virus and my dad had me castigada for a while until he got it fixed, but now i have it again up and running. I finally found life outside of the internet, hehe j/k. Nombre, so many things have happened since i last wrote.

We had our Battalion Picnic and my company kicked huge butt. Whoohooo!! We beat HQ and Alpha Co. in the tug of war and kick ball. We got beaten in a Hula Hoop game that requires alot of teamwork, we almost had it, but we got beaten by a couple of seconds. and we also got beaten at a volleyball game that i saw no point to. With that said "Gag Awards" where given out and i got "Most Likely to crash into a Parked Car." I thought it was pretty funny and a whole buch of other plp got others too, but the awards got a lot of plp in trouble beacause they hadnt gotten approved by our instructors, which caused some pretty hard demotions which brings me to the next point....
I'm no longer Bravo Company Commander, cuz i got promoted to Battallion Commander and now i have the rank of Lieutenant Colonel instead of Captain. Which in some way its pretty cool considering that the Military Ball is just two weeks away so I get to have the honor of running the whole show, along with my friends and i get to bring back the lost traditions that the past two Military Balls have forgotten about. And alot of rivalries between us have gone down and plp have gotten along much better.

Tomorrow is Prom. I have a dress and my bf doesnt want to go with me. Which really sux really bad, but i cant do anything about it. My friends said i wasnt going to not go and that i had to go, so they are going as a group and i think im going with them. I think. I still have about 24 hours to think about it. :)

And my last one, cuz i dont want to make this too long and i cant remember everything that has happened the last couple of weeks....I got a visit from the Army recruiters at my house and I almost got sent to San Antonio for my physical which meant that once i got sent i was in. But I thought about it long and hard and decided not to join the Army, but they still called and after i told them no, they went to my school and still tried to talk me back into joining the Army, but i said no once again. The National Guard paid me a visit to school too, but i immediately said no. I've gotten alot of mail from the Coast Guard, The Army, The Reserve and the Air Force, but im not interested. Sgt. Willingham, my instructor said that i had to deal with this for about two yrs before my ASVAB score expired. I guess a 52 is that good.

Tommorrow after i return from prom i have a trip to San Antonio for the weekend, thats if im up to it. I dont know, just maybe i'll go and get away from the pressures of home. Well i think thats it, my brain hurts from all this thinking and writing, hehe....laterz!
